Lakeland Role Playing Guild provides two gaming events each month on the 2nd and 4th Fridays from 7:00-11:30pm. We meet at 3140 Troy Avenue in Lakeland (inside the UU Congregation of Lakeland).

Our events provide multiple scheduled gaming tables as well as room for open tables for board games or card games or pick up RPG games. Check out our event descriptions in the category Guild News, Announcements, and Schedule.

Events are free to check out, although we do encourage regular attendees to join the Guild. Beginning in Activity Year 18 (Sept 2017), dues are $40 per person to become a member. If you do not wish to become a member, after two visits as a guest, there will be a $2 door charge to play. Your dues help us pay for our rent of the space and other items as needed.

We do not provide matchmaking services for home tables. We do not advertise home tables. We are involved primarily with running our two mini-con events each month. If members wish to recruit for their own personal home tables, they are welcome to do so both at Guild events as well as in the member-only section of the forum. The Guild holds no responsibility for those tables run outside of Guild.
Welcome to the new Lakeland Role Playing Guild forums. All content has been imported from our old system and slightly reorganized. If you encounter any issues or cannot located particular content, drop me a message in the Off Topic category by including @mightyrocket or send us an email at guild @ lakeland-rpg.com.
Are you looking for a game or have an open spot at your home table? We added a Looking for Game category for Members only. Be sure to check it out. Game on!

New poster... Looking to get back into Battletech after a long haiatus.

Hello everyone,

Been away from the hobby for 5--10 years and am looking to get back into playing Battletech. I live in Sebring, but it would be worth the trip to Lakeland. Is Battletech a commonly played game at the monthly meets or is it a come & see type of occurrence? Sorry if this post is off topic here.

Thanks,
Ash

  • Hi Ash,

We have a wide range of games each session and we do promote them in the Guild News and Schedule category. I don't see BattleTech on the schedule as of right now, but our friends at The Just Dice League do present a miniatures game on the first session we do each month (the 2nd Fridays), and I know BattleTech was mentioned as a possibility. My advice would be to be sure to check the schedule category (as I put up each event as they go live on our FB page and in our newsletter) and/or sign up for the newsletter here. I'll touch base with Eric at JDL and see if he's picked a date yet for BattleTech and let you know!

We are currently running between 3-5 scheduled tables each session (so twice a month) and then starting again in December we will have our open tables again which are first come first served. All the details are always duplicated here and on FB and the newsletter so everyone always has plenty of time to make plans. Sebring is quite a drive and we'd love it if you can make it out sometime!

ASH!!!!! How the hell are you man? It has been too long my friend!

BattleTech and BT Alpha Strike do make the rounds at the LRPG tables. This event year will be pretty sketchy though. Eric (one of our Alderman and also the CO of the Just Dice League) is our primary miniatures guy and, as Tracie mentioned above, we are working on his schedule contributions right now. It looks like one BT/BT-AS game for sure is going to be happening during a Guild Event but we still need to juggle things around to find out when.

That's not to say that a few games can't be planned away from the Guild calendar though. The only trick with that is my personal schedule as I currently am working in Gainesville while living in Lakeland. Shoot me a private message here and we'll swap contact info & catch up.

    Peace,
    Scott
